Lilly has been fighting lawsuits over its patents for more than a decade. On Monday, the U. Judicial Panel on Interferer’s Interaction with Lilly (JPCIL) ruled that Cialis’ patent on Eli Lilly’s Viagra, which treats erectile dysfunction, is invalid and could not be applied to the drug.
The JPCL ruled that Lilly’s patents were valid, and the patents were not infringed.
“The JPCL’s decision is supported by an extensive analysis of the relevant evidence, including the relevant case law and the entire Lilly patent history,” the company said in a statement.
The company said the JPCL found that Cialis’ generic drug patent was invalid and could not be applied to the drug.
